Sharp Dents

Often the first point of contact / impact on panels occurs on the cars body lines (“swage”).  A strong impact, usually by something small, will cause a sharp dent in a car panel.  Sharp dents and dings are commonly caused in car parks.  They occur when car doors are opened and hit against another cars panel.  These dents are also caused by shopping trolleys hitting car panels, or by objects being blown onto panels by strong winds.

Sharp dents are generally not round and will commonly create a high spot on a panel.  High spots are a result of the metal being forced to stretch outwards.
Some sharp dents may have their paint removed or fractured (hairline cracks). Dent size varies depending on the weight, size and force of the object that impacts the car panel.

It is commonly thought that these type of dents are not repairable.  This is not the case, #cardentremoval specialists / technicians can remove dents on body panel lines.

Sharp deep dents are the most difficult to repair.  They require considerable force to push them back out.  Sharp dents in the centre of large panels may be unrepairable due to metal having too much give.  In this situation the metal is unable to be shaped back to its original profile.  This primarily depends on whether or not there is sufficient bracing around the dent.

#DentRemoval of sharp dents involves the use of specialised tools and techniques.  The #dentremovalcost of sharp dents can be significantly cheaper than dent repairs carried out by #panelbeaters or #smashrepairs.
